Angled Agility

Video
▶ Watch videoPurpose
Improve coordinated foot-and-ankle control by combining broad lateral heel movement with a smaller diagonal movement through the forefoot.
How to perform
Use the board in the inverted setup, as shown.
Level 1 — Seated: Move the heel laterally through its comfortable range while the forefoot follows the smaller diagonal path.
Level 2 — Standing: Repeat the coordinated movement under body weight and control both sections throughout the range.
Level 3 — Single-leg: Prioritize balance and precision using small corrections rather than forcing the full range. Use light fingertip support as needed.
Duration
8–12 controlled cycles per foot
Coaching cues
- Allow the heel to move through the broader lateral range
- Let the forefoot follow the smaller diagonal path
- Coordinate both sections without twisting the knee or whole body
- Return slowly with control
Training level
Progress from Level 1 (seated) to Level 3 (single-leg) as control improves.
After mastering Level 3 with the round bars, progress to Level 4 using the triangular bars for greater instability.
