Triangular Bar Progression

Progression System
Training Focus
Greater instability · advanced balance · foot and ankle reaction control
Purpose
Make any board exercise harder using triangular bars in the same setup.
How to Perform
Keep the same exercise and foot placement. Progress to the triangular bars only after you can perform the rounded-bar version with smooth, consistent control. Begin with hand support, a smaller range, and slower corrections.
Duration
2–3 sets of slow controlled reps, or 15–30 seconds per side
Coaching Cues
- Use support
- Start small
- Move slowly
- Control the return
Common Mistakes
- Treating it as speed work
- Adding too much weight too soon
- Losing alignment
- Trying triangular bars too early
Safety Note
Move slowly, use support when needed, and stay within a comfortable range. Stop if you feel sharp or worsening pain.
