Purpose
Build lower-body strength and split-stance stability while challenging foot-and-ankle control through the front leg.
How to perform
Lower into a comfortable lunge while keeping the front foot active and the board controlled. Hold for 2–3 seconds, rise smoothly, complete the repetitions and switch sides.
Duration
6–8 reps per side with a 2–3 second hold
Coaching cues
- Keep the front knee aligned with the toes
- Lower the back knee without forcing the depth
- Keep the torso tall
- Use a comfortable, pain-free lunge depth
Training level
This exercise is presented as one focused progression.
Once the standard setup feels consistently controlled, progress to the triangular bars for a greater stability challenge.
